As you’ve probably found, an Expert Witness has the power to sway any childcare case – so choosing a Psychologist or Psychiatrist to stand by you in court is no small decision.
Atkinson Lewis can help. As a full support network for Solicitors and Local Authorities working in the Family Courts, we have an extensive list of medical professionals, with backgrounds in childcare and parental abuse – in addition to highly specialist fields like drug and alcohol dependency.
As well as Psychiatrists and Psychologists, our list of Expert Witnesses include GPs, Toxicologists and Biologists, who can add their own unique perspective.
So when should you bring in an Expert Witness?
We generally advise that your witness is brought into the case well ahead of the court date, to interpret lab reports and provide an expert commentary that’s submitted to the court.
In some cases, their written recommendations will suffice, but there will be times when they need to take the stand – especially if their recommendations contradict the lab’s conclusions and the court needs an insight into the psychiatric or psychological assessment.
Do you need an Expert Witness...or a package or expert support?
Atkinson Lewis provides an end-to-end service for every type of Family Law case. As well as sourcing your Expert Witness, we can initiate the testing process, draw informed conclusions and manage the whole process, from compiling Court Bundles to archiving documents after the case has closed.
