Atkinson Lewis is a UK support network for Solicitors, Barristers, Child Support Officers and other professionals working in Family Law. We’re here to make life easier and share some expertise – easing the process of assessing parents and carers, and taking your case through the Family Courts.
You can learn more about our services here.
Atkinson Lewis was founded by Dr. Rosemary Atkinson, a highly respected Psychiatrist with an extensive background in the field of Substance Abuse. Through senior posts in the NHS and work with the voluntary Sector, Dr Atkinson developed a thorough testing and reporting procedure – and over the years, she and her colleagues have transformed this into a comprehensive support system, backed by specialists in every aspect of childcare and Family Law.
As a Company, we have two missions....
Firstly, we’re here to ease the burden on our clients, by managing the unenviable tasks that go hand in hand with court proceedings. That means everything from preparing and archiving Court Bundles to working with labs and Sample Collectors – in other words all those miscellaneous things that find their way onto your “to-do” list.
Secondly – and most importantly – we’re here to work in the best interests of the families you serve, by providing a level of authentic support that you might not find elsewhere.
By way of example, certain testing laboratories have now crossed the line, from Drug & Alcohol Testing and into the realms of clinical interpretation – defending poor advice that’s often based on inadequate scientific research with caveats of a 10% margin of error. To our mind, this means risking the future of one in every 10 children they deal with – a statistic that we view as unacceptable when a child is at risk.
Our approach is to gather together a full body of experts, including lab teams, Social Services and clinical professionals, to consider every shred of evidence before reaching our recommendations. And even then, we validate our procedures by consulting with peer review groups comprised of Psychiatrists and Psychologists. No stone is left unturned.
So what can we do to help you?
You might have a current case that needs our support today, or maybe you’re just researching new working methods. Either way, there’s a lot more to tell you, so it’s worth you getting in touch.
And whether you need us now or later, why not apply to join our private members area? This is tailored exclusively for professional people working with children and families, and contains the very latest research on Substance Abuse, Addictions, DNA Testing and other key topics in childcare cases.
